Welcome to Twickenham Rugby Football Club

Founded in 1867, as well as having the most famous name in World Rugby, Twickenham RFC is also one of the oldest Rugby Clubs in the world with a long and proud tradition.

Despite being one of the oldest clubs, we are not one of the biggest but instead have a warm and friendly atmosphere which is the envy of many.

For the 2008/9 season we are proud to have a newly built and expanded Club House which with our generous sized park housing a number of pitches gives us excellent facilities for the twenty-first century.

2009/10 Season commences Sunday 6th September 10am. Please come along and try the game!

Mini & Midi Rugby (U6-U12)

Our Mini section is well established playing a full fixture list of friendlies and tournaments, and each season hosts our very own Twickenham 7s.

In these age groups we operate a genuine squad system, so that all boys and girls in a year group train together (A and B teams) and all our players are given match time.

If you are interested in playing rugby, talk to one of our head coaches, or simply come along join us for training (don't forget your boots, some warm clothes, and mouth-guard) We train on Sunday mornings 10-12 (check the fixture list) and for the older teams also midweek.

Youth Rugby (U13-U17)

Our Youth Rugby teams (U13 to U17) participate in the local leagues to a good standard. At this level each age group has its own fixture list which is a combination of league and friendlies.

Check the team pages for details

What can you expect?

Our main day is Sunday mornings, when training starts at 10.00am sharp, and goes on to approximately 12.00am. Home games meet at 10.00 a.m. and start at around 10.30am and these are advised in the fixture list, we also travel to other local clubs to play friendlies and tournaments, and our U11 and U10s play a special annual fixture against Rugby RFC. In the Easter the Minis go on tour, often to the South Coast.

The clubhouse is open all morning on Sundays with hot snacks, TV, soft drinks and even a full English Breakfast available to those who would like to watch the training or games. At midday the club bar opens for the service of 'other' refreshments, and plenty of people stay behind to chat. Some of the older teams also have a midweek training session under floodlights, generally on a Wednesday evening.

As a club member you are entitled to use the facilities whenever they are available. TRFC has a policy of encouraging all their players to play sporting rugby and does not support or encourage a "win at all costs" attitude in their children.
